Arlee Community Development

Did you know the Arlee CDC serves as a fiscal agent for individuals or groups providing services to our community?   As a fiscal agent we can act as a 501(c)(3) to help you qualify for grants, provide fiscal management services, and where requested, provide project management support.

SAMPLE PROJECTS WE SERVE:

TEDxArlee   In May 2015 Arlee became the smallest community in the country to have a licensed TED event.   Our topic was the importance of cross cultural understanding and we had 15 TED talks by members of our community, including High School Students.   To hear the talks go to:  http://tedxarlee.org/video-links/

Event coordinator Anna Baldwin has this to say about her experience with the Arlee CDC:  "When I began planning the TEDxArlee event, I knew I would need a fiscal agent.  This agent would need tax-exempt status, the ability to take deposits and cut checks and record-keeping capabaility.   The Arlee CDC served all of these functions perfectly.  I could not have asked for a more capable and convenient fiscal agent for my event."

STIPN CULTURE CAMP   Each summer Salish Elder Steven Small Salmon provides a cultural camp experience for youth.   The Arlee CDC,  has served as fiscal agent for this important camp for several years now providing grants management, bookkeeping and year end tax reporting based on the camp budget provided by the leadership team.

ARLEE CLUB UNITY   This local youth group started in 2014 to provide opportunities for youth on Fridays when there is no school in Arlee.   Tribal Council Representative Shelly Fyant established the group and Rose Gurule and Buck Morigeau volunteered to provide culturally informed services for youth each Friday afternoon.   In December 2014 the Arlee CDC became a partner and fiscal agent, providing mentoring and grant writing services.   We are pleased to report Club Unity has received two grants to begin an expanded program from June 1, 2015 to May 30, 2016.

JOCKO VALLEY LIBRARY   Since 2003 the Arlee CDC has served as a fiscal agent for the Jocko Valley Library when it writes grants to funding organizations requiring a 501(c)(3) organization.  Our ongoing partnership with the Library also includes Dolly Parton's Imagination Library (see Youth Programs for details).
